Reception for Past and Present Board Members

Government House

- By Invitation Only -

Since Anglican Homes Inc. -  Saint Luke’s Homes was incorporated, over 200 volunteers have served on its Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of 18-22 members including the Bishop of the Diocese, a representative of the Anglican Synod, the Home’s Chaplain, the president of the Auxiliary or other volunteer organization, and a representative of the tenants of the Cottages and Bishop Meaden Manor.


On September 16, 2014, His Honour, the Honourable Frank F. Fagan, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, hosted a reception at Government House to recognize the contribution of Board members in the successful governance of the corporation.


This was a wonderful meeting of all those who helped Saint Luke’s thrive for 50 years.

Saint Luke’s Annual Christmas Concert

Arts and Culture Centre

A wonderful success!  This was very well attended and special Thanks go to Myrle Vokey and Marilyn Vokey and the Concert Committee for their enormous effort.





January: A Partner’s Luncheon was hosted at Saint Luke’s Homes. This was the first time we gathered such a group of people who were influential in Saint Luke’s history and success!

It was very well attended, hosted by our Anglican Homes Co-Chair, Earl Ludlow and featured a performance by Dr. Bruce Shawyer and Sheila Williams





February:  Beat the Winter Blues - a week of fun for the current staff of Saint Luke’s Homes.  This was a brilliant week of fun, games and prizes.  Jammed packed with good times and laughter, this truly beat the blues!

- A night of poker, roulette, black jack and other games of chance. 


This was our Major Fundraiser for the year, with all proceeds going toward our new Supportive Living facility.

This was a Triumph! Raising over $62,000.00!

SAINT LUKE’S FINANCIAL AND FUNERAL PLANNING CONFERENCE

“Don’t wait, estate planning for seniors should be done before a life changing event.”

As part of its 50th year celebration, Saint Luke’s Homes is organizing a half-day conference for seniors and families about financial and funeral planning. The focus will be about wills, taxes, the role of executors, power of attorney, and funeral planning.

This was a wonderful service to our community and was very well-attended. 




June:  Closing Celebrations!

During our Closing celebrations, we held tours at Saint Luke’s Homes, a video was completed on the 50 years of Service for Saint Luke’s.  To purchase call: (709)752-8900.  Finally the Church Service was the cap off of the entire year.  At this service it was announced that the new building’s name was decided!  The Reverend Canon Randall R. Babb & Mrs. Lillian A. Babb Manor.   This name was chosen because of their pioneering efforts with Saint Luke’s Homes since the very beginning!
